1. Christmas for Women – tomorrow, Saturday, November 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. all women are invited to a Christmas event entitled “Merry Christmas from Our House to Your House”.
2. “Building on the Rock” scripture this Sunday – Revelation 20 – 21
This will be the last sermon in the "Magnum Opus: God’s Great Enterprise of Love" series. This is also the close of our “Building on the Rock” focus. However, we encourage everyone to continue to discover God’s grace in Jesus Christ as we read the scriptures.
3. Soupwich – Everyone is invited to Soupwich being held in Campbell Hall after the second service this Sunday, November 25. Please bring enough sandwiches for you and your family PLUS one extra for a guest. Please bring your uncut sandwiches to the kitchen before the service so we can cut them and arrange them on plates for serving.
4. Family Fellowship – will meet this Sunday, November 25 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Campbell Hall. All families with young children are invited for a potluck dinner and fellowship. For further information please contact Geoff Colman at 613-722-5630 or rtoppscolman@gmail.com.
5. Christmas Edition of Focus – If you would like to submit a piece for the Christmas edition of Focus, please contact Ruth Whitehead at 613-731-9786 or Joan Triandafillou at focus@storm.ca. The deadline for submissions is November 25.
6. Seniors’ Luncheon – Wednesday, November 28 at noon. All seniors are invited to join us to good food and warm fellowship. Guest speaker – Evonne Isaak will talk about preparing an Estate Binder. Don’t forget to sign the sheet in the narthex. A free-will offering will be taken to cover our costs.
7. RATANAK 3rd Annual Bake Sale – held at Salem Storehouse (1558 Merivale Road) on Saturday, December 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Contributions of baked goods should be clearly labelled as: contains nut, nut-free, or gluten-free. Please drop off your baking at St. Paul’s on November 29 or 30 between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. or at Salem Storehouse after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1. 8. December 2, the First Sunday in Advent – We are on the verge of the Advent-Christmas season, a time that is meant for quiet meditation and spiritual anticipation, but for many has become the busiest, most distracting time of year. To assist us in getting the right focus, we will celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper at both services next week.
9. Resource Room News
- We have a new Computer Kiosk at the entrance to the Resource Room where you can burn a CD of the worship service. It is very user-friendly system, but if you need assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask.
- Copies of the DVD movie entitled “Courageous” are on sale for $10.00 each. Speak to one of the staff to obtain a copy.
Help yourself to any of the VHS videos on the table in the Library. (A donation would be appreciated.)
- Whoever borrowed the Christian Heros book about Clara Barton, please speak to someone in the Resource Centre.
- Several books from the Resource Centre are long overdue. Please check carefully to see if you have an outstanding book.
10. The Search for a Children's Pastor – We have already received some applications for this position. The deadline is next Friday, November 30. If you know of any potential candidates, please encourage them to apply. We also ask that you continue to pray for God's guidance during this process.
11. Thank You St. Paul’s – My husband Tim and I would like to thank everyone who brought us meals after the birth of our beautiful boy Jude. We greatly appreciate your effort and thoughtfulness.
