2. More of Christ. Less of Me. – The season of Lent is approaching. Lent is a tradition in the Christian calendar with great significance for many Christians. The Lenten season helps prepare God’s people for Easter. Many Christians participate in Lent through various spiritual disciplines such as prayer, worship and fasting. This year, Ash Wednesday falls on February 13, signaling the start of the Lenten season. Consider joining us in the participation of Lent. This year we will teach and invite St. Paul’s to the spiritual discipline of fasting. We will also provide Sunday Evening Prayer Vigils which will start on Sunday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m. Let’s join together as a congregation in drawing closer to Christ during the Lenten season.
3. First Sunday of Lent: Sun. Feb 17 – to start our Lenten season, there will be communion served for both services. The first Prayer Vigil will also take place at 7pm.
4. St. Paul's Book Circle invites you to a discussion of the book Amusing Ourselves to Death by Neil Postman. It is a thought-provoking and compelling book that looks at how the entertainment industry, namely television, has changed the way society thinks. Although it was written in 1985, it has an even broader relevance in today's world of social media. We meet on Monday, February 11 in the Fireside Room from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
5. The Ratanak Support Prayer Group will meet in the Fireside Room on Tuesday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. Please join us to hear what Andree-Anne Williams and her husband Steve (regular prayer members) learned from their two-week trip to Cambodia in January.

Prayer Fellowship Meeting – Our next Prayer Fellowship meeting is scheduled for Saturday, February 16 at 8:00 a.m. Please join us for an hour when we pray for our church, community, world, missions and particularly for those in the congregation who have special needs. Everyone is welcome to participate.
7. Missions Craft Group – Do you have "cabin fever" and would like to do something a little different? Consider joining the Missions Crafts Group on Saturday, February 23 from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the Jubilee Room. Learn how to prepare strips from milk bags and then crochet them into sleeping mats for people in Haiti. Our newest project, Little Dresses for Africa, will be introduced and may appeal to those interested in sewing. The dresses are made from new or gently used pillowcases and are distributed throughout orphanages, churches and schools. Both of these projects can be worked on at home in your own time and at our workshops held at St. Paul's. Please bring two pairs of scissors (an old pair and a pair suitable for cutting fabric). 8. We Need YOUR Help – The Missions Crafts Group is looking for clean, flattened milk bags (the outer-branded bags, not the clear, plastic inner ones) – we’re running out! We're also looking for donations of leftover fabric (cotton and polyester/cotton) and new or gently used pillowcases for our newest project to help support 'Little Dresses for Africa." Donations may be placed in the appropriately marked boxes located in the narthex.
9. Next Soupwich – Everyone is invited to Soupwich in Campbell Hall after the second service on Sunday, February 24. Please don’t forget to bring enough sandwiches for you and your family PLUS one extra for a guest. Bring your uncut sandwiches to the kitchen BEFORE the service so we can cut and arrange them on plates. A delicious soup will be provided. It’s a great way for us to meet and greet new and old friends.
10. St. Paul’s Annual General Meeting – Please mark Monday, February 25 at 7:30 p.m. on your calendars for the Annual General Meeting. We would like to encourage everyone to attend so you’ll have an opportunity to review the budget and comment on the exciting programs and events offered at St. Paul’s.
11. You’re Invited to the Choir – If you would like to join the choir for the Easter service, rehearsals begin on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
12. Seniors’ Fellowship Luncheon – The next Seniors’ Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, February 27. Please join us in Campbell Hall at noon. Jennifer Chalmers and Sylvia Young will provide musical entertainment for your enjoyment. You must register by signing the sheet located on the table at the entrance to the Resource Room (so we know how much food to prepare). A free-will offering will be taken to cover our costs.
13. "Thriving Family", the Christian magazine from Focus on the Family has arrived. It contains many good articles about parenting and easy-to-use devotions for the family. Please pick up your copy in the Narthex.
14. Student Care Packages – St. Paul's is blessed by the presence of university and college students in town but let's not forget our out- of-town students. Help us keep in contact with them by sending Care Packages. Phil is looking for some volunteers to help maintain contact with these students. Much of the work is done on your own time. We are looking for eight groups to help by providing soup, bread and clean-up services for our Friday night program at Epicentre.
