1. This Sunday – Phil Kim will be preaching from 1 Timothy 2:1-4.
2. God Keep Our Land – We welcome family and friends to St Paul’s this Canada Day weekend. During our service today, we will take time to thank God for our nation of Canada. We will also be offering up prayers for our nation as well as our leaders.
3. Campaign 308 – We invite you to join with us in participating in Campaign 308 this weekend. Campaign 308 is a campaign created by the National House of Prayer. It is an invitation to pray for the 308 members of Parliament. We are looking to get a minimum of 308 churches praying all over Canada for their MP’S during this weekend. The MP for St Paul’s Church in Ottawa-West is the Honourable John Baird.
Do you know who is your local MP? To find out, you can go to parl.gc.ca. If you’d like to know how you can pray for your MP, please go to nhop.ca for suggestions from the National House of Prayer. May God bless us all during this Canada Day weekend.
4. Summer Fun Activity for Children this Sunday – The children are invited to learn about Jonah and the Whale this Sunday. Children are asked to wear or bring socks this Sunday for some fun with an inflatable whale (weather permitting).
5. Communion Served Sunday, July 7 – Please join with us as we come to the Lord's Supper together on Sunday, July 7 at 10:30 a.m.
6. Congregational Questionnaire– due this Sunday, June 30, 2013
As the Search Team begins its work to find a new Senior Minister, they would like your input . . . what skills do you think our new Minister should have? . . . what areas of ministry should we focus on? etc. To assist in this information gathering process the team would request that everyone, high school age and above, complete a Congregational Questionnaire. Please put your completed questionnaire in the box marked "Completed Congregational Questionnaire" which is in the Narthex. Extra copies of the questionnaire are available beside the box.
The questionnaire in Word format is also provided in this link. Please email the completed questionnaire by this Sunday to the church office at office@stpaulspcottawa.com.
Thank you for your assistance in this important part of the search process. Also, please pray for the Team, for the person God is calling to be our new Senior Minister and, of course, for the ongoing ministry at St. Paul's.
7. July Prayer Calendars are Ready – We are invited by God to regularly come to Him in prayer. St Paul’s Prayer Calendars are a great way to commune with the Lord and intercede for others. Please take a copy for yourself this Sunday.
8. Volunteer Opportunity: Soupwich Coordinator – St. Paul's Soupwiches provide a timely and relaxed setting for our church community to meet and mingle over lunch. They assist in welcoming newcomers and in building our church community.
The Soupwich Coordinator's job is to contact small group leaders in the early fall to arrange a date for each group to provide the food, set up and clean up for one of the five soupwiches held in October, November, January, February and March. Before each soupwich, the coordinator will also arrange for the announcement in the weekly bulletins.

9. Relief for the Alberta Floods– Southern Alberta has been hit hard by widespread flooding. With up to 16 hours of rainfall in some areas, the flooding has forced area residents from their homes to higher ground. As flood evacuations are beginning to lift in the west, residents are returning home and the difficult task of assessing the extent of damages and moving back into muddied, waterlogged homes is beginning.
In Eastern Alberta, people are coping with historic amounts of water and the evacuation of thousands. People across Canada have been praying for our Albertan sisters and brothers in the wake of this disaster. You can help by continuing to pray for those who have been affected and by making a donation to relief efforts through Presbyterian World Service and Development at presbyterian.ca/pwsd.
10. Summer Refreshment Volunteers Needed – Starting this Sunday, June 30, we will need volunteers to serve juice during the fellowship time after the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Don’t worry, you will not be asked to wash dishes. You only need to serve the juice which is stored in the fridge. Here’s a very easy way to serve your church – and you can make more friends in the process! Please sign the sheet in the narthex.
