1. THIS SUNDAY – Ian will be preaching from 1 Cor. 11. We will also be serving Communion this Sunday.
2. SOUPWICH FELLOWSHIP – Everyone is invited to Soupwich being held in Campbell Hall after the second service this Sunday, November 24. Please bring enough sandwiches for you and your family PLUS one extra sandwich for a guest. Bring your uncut sandwiches to the kitchen before the service so we can cut and arrange them on plates. Soup will be provided.
3. ST. PAUL’S PRAYER WALL – Thank you to those who have made a commitment to pray for St. Paul's on the Prayer Wall. This Sunday will be the last day to sign up for the Prayer Wall – but don't let that stop you from praying at any time for St. Paul's!
4. PRAYER SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE – As our congregation focuses on prayer this year a Prayer Support Ministry will be available to the congregation, starting this Sunday. If you would like to have someone pray with you, please come to the front, right corner of the Sanctuary after the service. A prayer intercessor will be available to pray with you. The Prayer Support Ministry will be available after both the contemporary and traditional services.
5. REEL FAITH – You may think you have real faith but have you ever experienced Reel Faith? We will watch part 2 of a 3 part movie called “Search for the Real Jesus” this Sunday. We will meet in the sanctuary at 5 pm. This movie is a great resource for those who are curious about the Christian faith. A brochure is prepared for this Sunday. Please consider how you can invite others to this movie event.
6. RATANAK ANNUAL BAKE SALE – Come be a part of our Ratanak fundraiser. We are looking for bakers and supporters. For those who can bake, please drop off your treats at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 29 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. OR at Salem Storehouse (1559 Merivale Rd.) on Saturday, November 30 between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. For those who would rather come and enjoy the goodies, we will be selling between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30 at Salem Bookstore. All proceeds go directly to Ratanak to rescue and rehabilitate those who have been a victim of human trafficking.
7. FAMILY FELLOWSHIP – Young families with children should mark Sunday, December 8 (4:00 p.m.) on their calendars for the next Family Fellowship.
8. EMERGENCY APPEAL – The Presbyterian World Service and Development (PWS&D) is responding to the devastation in the aftermath of the typhoon that recently slammed into the Philippines. Your response will support the immediate needs of those affected. If you wish to make a donation, clearly mark your offering envelope “TYPHOON HAIYAN RELIEF”. Donations made by December 9 will be matched by the Canadian government.
9. SENIORS’ LUNCHEON – The next Seniors’ Luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, December 11 in Campbell Hall at noon. This will be our special Christmas luncheon. More details and a sign-up sheet will be provided soon. (The November Luncheon was cancelled.)
10. PHOTO UPDATES UNTIL DECEMBER 15 – St. Paul’s Photo Directory needs to be updated. If you’re happy with your photo from the 2010 Directory, then we’ll reuse that photo – no need to let us know. Memory sticks of all of your photos taken will be available for $5.00. The new Photo Directory will cost $5.00. If you are new to St. Paul’s, we strongly encourage you to come and get your photo taken as this is a great way to get to know everyone. Starting in December, photos will be taken between the services as well, so do not delay and miss this wonderful opportunity.
11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILL JOHNSTON – Bill Johnston, a long-time, active member of St. Paul’s, is celebrating his 90th birthday this Sunday with Isabel (wife); Susan (daughter); Dani (granddaughter) and her friend David from Brisbane, Australia; Bill E.(son from Nepean); Bob (son), Joanne (daughter-in-law) and Heather, (granddaughter) – all from Arnprior. Also best wishes from Sandra (daughter) and her family in Israel. Your St. Paul’s family extends congratulations Bill. God bless.
12.THANKS TO OUR CHURCH FAMILY – We have been so encouraged by your cards, telephone calls and prayers as Marion adjusts to her heart pace-maker and as Arden continues to have chemotherapy treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Arden and Marion Walther
13.106 SHOEBOXES – We thank the congregation for their generosity in participating in Operation Christmas Child. Altogether, we are sending 106 shoeboxes packed with gifts to children around the world.
14.GUESS WHO CAME TO DINNER – The Pastoral Ministries Team wants to thank all who took part in our "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner " event held last weekend. Over 60 people were invited to 11 different homes and there are still other dinners which will occur soon. Many friendships were strengthened and new ones were made. Watch for pictures of this event in the Christmas edition of Focus.
