1. “Building on the Rock” scripture this Sunday–Acts 4:13-20
During this year, we invite the congregation to read and meditate on scripture and to “Build” on the teachings of our Lord. We are currently teaching from the book of Acts from the pulpit.
2. Looking forward to the Fall – Labour Day weekend is coming soon, signaling the end of summer and the return of regular activities at St Paul’s. Please take note that we will be holding our “Welcome Back” Sunday on September 9 at 10:30 am, and September 16 will be the first Sunday to include both the contemporary and traditional services. The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at both worship times on the 16th.
3. Welcome Back Luncheon – September 9. Everyone is invited to attend the Welcome Back Luncheon in Campbell Hall, Sunday September 9 after the traditional service. Bring sandwiches for you and your family and one extra for a guest. We provide drinks, salad and dessert. Please bring your uncut sandwiches to the kitchen before the service so we can cut them and arrange them on plates. If it’s a lovely day and you want to eat outside, bring lawn chairs.
4. Summer Sundays for Kids – We have a safe and friendly nursery that is available for infants and toddlers during the summer. The nursery is at the east end of the building between the main corridor and Campbell Hall. Please feel free to ask an usher for directions.
There will also be a program for children up to age 10 during the summer. Children are invited to join their parents for the first part of the worship service, then go to Campbell Hall for the Children’s Summer Program.
5. St Paul’s Golf Fellowship – Be sure to sign up this Sunday for this great event scheduled for Saturday, September 15 at the Amberwood Golf Club. John Stevenson has further details and can answer questions.

7. Celebrating a Silver Jubilee Wedding Anniversary –Attah and Alice Boame are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this week. “We thank God for His blessings over the past 25 years. May the Lord grant us love and happiness in the coming years. We invite the whole congregation to Campbell Hall after the service this Sunday for some anniversary cake and to celebrate this special occasion with us. Thank you.”
8. From Marg and Sherry Hill – We thank God that Sherry is recovering from her recent illness, and we thank all St. Paul’s people who prayed for Sherry, and we certainly appreciated the cards and phone calls.
9. Pinecrest Terrace Food Bank –sincerely thanks you for your recent donation of non-perishable food. During the summer our shelves can get quite empty, and so restocking them with your generous donation made a tremendous difference for us and the people we serve. In the past months we have seen an increase in first-time users of the food bank. Many of them are families with children, and have come upon hard times for various reasons. Your donations mean they can put good food on the table for their families. Some of the foods we need most are peanut butter, juice, tune or salmon or other canned meat, hot and cold cereal, canned fruit and pasta. For more information or to volunteer your help, please contact Linda Shugart 613-596-2619.
