Young Adult Ministry Request I am looking for families who would be willing to invite a couple of young adults for lunch after one of the Sunday worship services this fall. Connecting through a shared meal is an incredible way to build community and I have never met a college or university student living away from home who’d turn down a free meal. If you would consider being one of the hosts for this new initiative, please contact me at jeremy@epicentreyouth.com. Jeremy Sauvé, Discipleship Pastor Cookies and/or Squares needed for September 11 Judy Richardson and her team are looking for volunteers to make cookies and squares for our September 11 luncheon at St. Paul’s as part of our Welcome Home event. If you are able to help please sign the sheet in the Resource Centre. Thank you. Pinecrest Terrace Food Bank These are busy days at the Food Bank, as parents are bringing their children along with them when they come in for food. Now families are getting ready for school, and we like to support their efforts to help their children succeed in school. If you would like to help, these school supplies are the ones most needed: geometry/math sets, backpacks, lunch bags, markers, dividers and calculators. Other requested items are graph paper, rulers, scissors, pencil cases, white-out, post-it notes, and locks. You can leave these items with the food donations to the food bank at the parking lot door, in the bins marked Food Bank Donations. Of course, your regular food donations are always appreciated. Thank you for your help! Soup Ministry For the past two years, women from St. Paul’s have been making soup and taking it to share at the Pinecrest Food Bank each Wednesday from October through to April. Although numbers are variable, we generally suggest that there be enough soup to feed 12-15. (All bowls etc. are provided for our use and there is a full kitchen for reheating etc.) The women take their soup and serve it to the individuals waiting to access the Food Bank. You are not alone as there are volunteers who are there to serve coffee when individuals arrive. The individuals appreciate it if you sit and eat with them. Often they just want someone to talk to. Typically, you would serve once every two months. If you would be willing to help with this project please contact Carol Rourke at lovemyptcruiser@rogers.com. Thank you for considering this ministry. |
