1.    “Building on the Rock” scripture this Sunday – Revelation 5: 1-14

During this year, we invite the congregation to read and meditate on scripture and to “Build” on the teachings of our Lord. Currently, the teaching from the pulpit will be from the book of Revelation. Follow along with us in discovering this significant book in the Bible.

2.    Christian Fitness: Becoming Light – Paul McKechnie's Sunday Group begins again. We invite you to the Fireside Room on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. to join in the discussion.

3.    Congregational Meeting – The congregation is invited to attend an important meeting this Sunday, September 30 (after the traditional worship service) regarding the hiring of a part-time Children's Pastor. We are following up from the meeting we had in the early summer. We will meet again to answer any questions. We will conclude the meeting with a congregational vote. Childcare will be provided during the meeting. You will also find in the attachment a clarification concerning the job qualifications of the position.

4.    Giving Thanks and Giving Generously – Thanksgiving is coming soon. Let’s give thanks to God for all His blessings. This season, let’s also share our blessings with others. At St. Paul’s, will you join us in sharing our bounty with those in need?

Pinecrest Terrace Food Bank – We invite you to bring nonperishable foods for the local Food Bank. There has been a decrease in food donations for the Food Bank this year. Your donations will be greatly appreciated. There is a great need for high priority items such as canned fish and meat, peanut butter, canned stew or chilli, hot and cold breakfast cereal, crackers, rice, juice boxes and granola bars. Food donations may be placed in the food bin located in the narthex.

5 Loaves and 2 Fish for Thanksgiving – There is a familiar story in the Bible about a boy who gives to Jesus 5 loaves and 2 fish. His gift fed thousands. On Thanksgiving Sunday, we will create a wonderful opportunity for the children to offer their "5 loaves and 2 fish". For both the Contemporary and Traditional Service, we are asking families to allow their children to bring to the front their food donations during the Children's Time. Let's teach our children the significance of giving during this season.

Sharing Your Home – Thanksgiving is a wonderful time for family but it can also be a wonderful opportunity to invite a guest to your table. Consider others in St. Paul’s, in your workplace or in your neighbourhood who would be blessed by your fellowship this Thanksgiving.

5.    English as a Second Language Classes – ESL classes will be held on Thursdays from 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. If you know anyone who might benefit from these classes, please invite them to come to St. Paul’s. 13. Thank you St. Paul’s – On behalf of the family, I would like to express our appreciation to the congregation of St. Paul’s Presbyterian for the cards, letters, phone calls and expressions of concern received since my Dad passed away two weeks ago.  Your support is greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
